CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS SURVEY

Critical Factor #1: Quality Management
Statement #1

I feel like the development of a high quality product or service hinges on a comprehensive quality management plan.

Statement #2

I encourage stakeholders that have issues with product or service quality to raise their concerns during quality management planning.

Statement #3

When I plan for quality, I do not do it independent of other project planning.

Critical Factor #2: Quality Standards
Statement #4

If a stakeholder wants to raise a product's quality standard, I need to assess the potential impact on schedule and cost.

Statement #5

My goal is to clearly understand what the customer expects in terms of quality, even if I can't meet with the customer personally.

Statement #6

I go through the validation process with stakeholders to ensure their quality standards were met.

Critical Factor #3: Defect Prevention
Statement #7

At the onset of quality planning, I make sure stakeholders are aware of the implications of a defective product.

Statement #8

I understand that defects can cause cost and schedule overruns. That’s why I invest time upfront to minimize the probability of a defect.

Statement #9

If I discover a defect in the midst of producing a deliverable, I can always complete a change request. However, if I could have prevented the defect during quality planning, that would be optimal.

Critical Factor #4: Cost of Quality Control
Statement #10

I believe user training is pivotal in minimizing the cost of quality. Whenever possible, I'd like to ensure users get as much training as possible.

Statement #11

If the product my team and I design fails, the cost of quality will increase. Rework will be needed as a result of nonconformance.

Statement #12

I understand testing a product is a cost of quality. Testing may increase project costs but is necessary.
